At Want2Dance we offer you the opportunity to learn Modern Jive at venues across the Midlands in a relaxed, non-threatening, safe environment, where the emphasis is on having fun.

At Want2Dance Burton, we have nurtured an easy-going and friendly atmosphere, where people come to enjoy a great social night out - not just to attend a dance lesson!

Building on the success of our Want2Dance Burton venue, we opened our new venue in May 2008 at The Kingsbury Country Club, in Kingsbury, near Tamworth. (Click onto the Venues page for more details).

When people arrive for the first time, they often tell us that they have two left feet, and feel a little nervous. But whether you come as a couple, on your own, or as part of a group, at Want2Dance Burton you are assured of a warm welcome, where the team will quickly help you feel at ease and explain the format of the evening. We remind people that we have all been Beginners once, and remember what it feels like - so just relax and try not to take it too seriously ...!

We follow the usual format, whereby after helping everyone partner up into three rows, we introduce the key elements of Modern Jive, and then do a gentle warm-up. Four Beginner moves are then demonstrated, and taught by breaking each one down into basic steps; then we walk through the move together, and finally practice it to music! The moves are taught one by one, and then linked together; so after 30-40 minutes, even a brand new Beginner will be able to get through an entire track, dancing those four moves to the music!

Come along and enjoy a great social evening, meet new people, benefit from a good cardio-vascular workout (without even realizing it!), dance to some superb music - and most of all, come and have a lot of fun!
